Why Your Airport Lounge Access May Be Declined
Common reasons lounge entry fails even when you have a premium credit card — visit limits, spend rules, wrong terminal, capacity — and what to do next.

Visit limit exhausted
Most Indian cards cap domestic visits (often around several visits per quarter). If you have used all visits, the lounge will decline entry even with a valid card. Check your bank app for remaining visits before heading to the airport.
Spend milestone not met
Some cards require a quarterly spend threshold before lounge benefits activate. New cards may also have a waiting period. Verify spend progress in your banking app rather than assuming the welcome-kit benefit is already live.
Wrong terminal or lounge network
DreamFolks lounges may not accept Priority Pass. A domestic lounge may not accept international boarding passes. You may be at T1 while the eligible lounge is in T3.
- Lounge at capacity (especially peak hours)
- Missing same-day boarding pass
- Card not physically present when required
- Guest count exceeds allowed free guests
- Name on card does not match ID
What to do when declined
Ask the desk for the specific reason. Search Lounge Access Finder for alternative lounges in your terminal. Consider a paid day pass only if you are comfortable with the price. Contact your bank if you believe the decline conflicts with your remaining visit counter.

Can a lounge be full?
Yes. Lounges can restrict entry at capacity even with valid access. Arrive early or try another eligible lounge in the same terminal.
Does a decline mean my card never works there?
Not necessarily. A decline can be temporary (capacity, visits used, wrong side of the airport). Fix the stated reason and re-check before your next trip.
