Mumbai airport terminals explained

Mumbai BOM has two main passenger complexes: T1 for many domestic flights (with sections such as 1B/1C depending on airline) and T2 for international traffic plus select domestic operations. Lounge access must match the terminal printed on your boarding pass.

International travelers at T2 may see airline lounges, Priority Pass locations, and some credit-card partner lounges. Domestic travelers should search BOM with Domestic lounge type and the correct T1 section when known.

Bank cards and networks at BOM

HDFC, ICICI, Axis, and SBI premium cards commonly include BOM domestic lounge visits. International lounge access may require Priority Pass, airline business class, or premium travel cards from overseas issuers.

Because T1 and T2 lounge inventories differ, search each terminal separately instead of assuming a card that works at one terminal works at the other.

  • T2 international lounges often require an international boarding pass
  • Domestic lounges may not accept international boarding passes
  • Guest policies differ by card tier and program

Peak times and backup options

Mumbai peaks during festival season, Monday mornings, and late-evening international banks. If one lounge is full, search alternative eligible lounges in the same terminal rather than arguing at the desk.

Keep a screenshot of your remaining visit count from the bank app — it helps when staff need to verify eligibility.

Mumbai travel tips

Arrive with enough buffer for security and the walk to the lounge. Confirm signs after security; some lounges are easy to miss in busy T2 corridors.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the same card at Mumbai T1 and T2?

Your card may work at both if each lounge participates in your program and you have visits remaining. Search each terminal separately because lounge lists differ.

What if I only know “Terminal 1”?

Try searching BOM with Domestic and Terminal 1B or 1C if your airline uses those sections. If unsure, search BOM Domestic without a terminal filter, then confirm against your boarding pass.
